They're Ready

Anchor's alpha class convinced their teacher that the carrots were ready to pull up so they did. Obviously it is 90* and the sun was in his eyes!
Anchor was working on his shuffling skills. He's always up for a good game!
He came home with a huge bug bite on his leg that bothered him so bad he went to the nurse's office and since then has been regularly going back for an ice pack. Apparently he likes the break.
He had his first band competition of the season and was pretty tired the next day. Those late nights and super early mornings are hard!

Anchor had his first flag football games this week. They got creamed. But that's ok. He got a good pull and had fun. Front AND back of his jersey per his request.

Turns out they were twinning it the other day!
Just preparing for his pajama party float for the homecoming parade coming up!
The kids had a temple trip this weekend.  They had a good time and got in a pretty picture.

Brevick had his first games this week. They tied one then lost in overtime and the second game they lost by 4 points. Brevick had some good tackles. It looks like it's going to be an intense season.

The princess and the pea

Quote of the day: "paraplegic rats can live for a long time in the right home". So we spent the whole afternoon resetting the rat cage to be more accessible to Dobbie who is struggling to use his back legs.

British

I'd say we reached a new low with the ice cream straight out of the carton but alas, we've been doing it for awhile.  I draw the line at adding toppings to the bucket.  Anchor was enjoying the spoils of being the only kid at home while everyone else was at their church activities.  We also played a few rounds of go fish which Anchor keeps calling "gold fish".
We have also been playing hundreds of rounds of guess who. Anchor does pretty good. Always starting off asking if you are a specific person because he guessed right once. He also needs to be occasionally reminded that you can't switch characters part way through. There is no tricking people in guess who.

Emmerlyn had a presentation for class and she had to bring a family food that represents her heritage (that couldn't be American) turns out there is a British dish that is very similar to bread pudding so we made bread pudding to share.

We are staying busy with sports practice and getting ready for games to start soon which will make things a little more chaotic.  Hopefully the schedule works out.

The last week

More dog pictures.  She likes to come up and snuggle for the goodnight show (kind of like a story except we watch a YouTube video together). Anchor likes to have her picture taken.
Brevick started tackle football this year. So far he likes it. We will see how it turns out when the season really gets going.
Anchor has been working on his electricity understanding.  He has roped anyone he can into working with him. They have taken over the table.
Brevick ran for student representative so we made a poster. It said I've got your back!
Charley is working back into cross country.  Running hard.
Emmerlyn has been crocheting and making a whole pile of origami frogs. She is obsessed.  She's made some cute little yarn frogs too. I guess it's a thing.

Senior parking

Just watching paint dry

Here they get to pain a spot for their senior year. It was hot and sunny but we got it done. William did a great job and will have a great spot for the year. I helped him out and it was fun to work together.

Just a tired looking band picture
