From the mouth of Goobs

Anchor was pulling stuff out of the drawer and Charley looked over and saw him and said "whoa Anchor". Anchor feeling chastised started to cry. As Charley was scooping him up he muttered "Anchor doesn't like to be whoa'd"
*Astute observation Charley

Sunshine

Since it was almost warm today *aka 45* with the sun out* Anchor and I went for a little walk/jog while Brevick was in preschool.
Tragically I was breaking in some new shoes. Don't worry, I didn't let the bleeding ankles stop me and continued until we had to stop so Anchor could eat.
Tax season has finally, ended you know on Monday, but it has been SO nice to feel a little bit relaxed with Ben home. I went to the Temple yesterday while Ben watched the kids and I am so glad I was able to go. I did Baptism for the Dead for the first time in like 10 hundred years but now I have a little group of names that I can continue through with all the other ordinances. We are looking forward to soccer again on Saturday and we are hoping to take a little hike on Friday. It is playtime I think for our family so we are all pretty excited!!!

1 more Pillow till Gathering Time

Yes that is a statement from Brevick, Yes those are his legs launching a pillow off the couch. He is working hard to make sure that Anchor is learning all the important things in life, like kicking off the pillows and then having to gather them back up. He says the funniest things and sure adores his siblings.
Soccer has started and it is freeze your knees cold out there, after 3 hours of soccer games on Saturday I thought I would never be warm again. Thanks to Sallee and William for watching Anchor so that he did not become a Popsicle. Brevick loves it so much, his team this season is the Orange Cobra Ducks and I think it fits, he is by far the most aggressive of my kids.

The other day he said he was feeling tired and wanted to take a rest, as this NEVER happens (because you don't admit defeat) I told him by all means he should lay down for a minute, this is how I found him. He did make the comment as he was laying down to rest that he didn't want Anchor to watch him sleep "cuz that's creepy"
Another snippet of funny from this week, Out of the blue while Brevick was eating his lunch he said "mom, we need to go visit Wilison" I asked why *not that I'm opposed to the idea, Wilson's a cute little chap and has an added bonus he lives on the BEACH* He replied "cuz he's m'best friend"
Cutie patootie lounging on the couch with Dora Jean, he was so enthralled with his books that he almost fell asleep, he didn't even notice dino Brevick.
I caved and bought him the jumparoo. It was expensive but he loves it, he finally figured out how to jump in it and always smiles so big while he jumps. I think it was worth the extreme sum of money!
Emmerlyn also is playing soccer, I got roped into coaching but since I do not play soccer, I begged Kyle to help out with the games, he is a great sport and Emmerlyn loved having him there.
Sallee and William have been arguing over matter and periodic tables lately, on Saturday they both pulled theirs out to prove their points.
Brevick goes to all the soccer games even though he is an ice berg, I don't know what I would do without my soccer pal.

William Says

So the other day in the car we were listening to the radio and William was chatting about the different instruments and which ones are better in which songs and whatnot. I told him that a lot of the sounds in songs now are made on synthesizers or otherwise computerized. He was appalled by this knowledge and exclaimed in true William fashion "Wow, it's like a scam for your ears!"
LOL, true things. This kid is sure amazing, he is learning and sharing so much I just can't believe it, I love him so much!!

The Princess and the Pea

They other day William was spouting off facts about matter and Emmerlyn turned to him and said "William I don't care and I don't want to know." William continued to explain various theories and the why and what matter is so Emmerlyn turned to me and talking over him said annoyed "yeah mom, I tell him I don't care and he just keeps talking, I don't care and I don't want to even know."
Oh the drama of being a poor girl with many brothers...

The Bunnies on Butter

It's amazing what a little cheese will do to make a mediocre meal taste good. The kids loved it, thankfully because it was not that good.
Just him playing with my water bottle. He sits up now and is getting so big. He has decided that he LOVES sweet potatoes but he consistently hates bananas. He is starting to make more sounds and has such a sweet little voice. He is working on his teeth this week though and he has been CRANKY!!!!!
Charley has been working on his robotic skills, the other kids have been building them too. I am just glad that he hasn't rebuilt the cat, that meow gets me everytime.
Emmerlyn found some little beds for her little bunnies. Cute little things laying on beds of butter.
Dora Jean, Kyler, and Simeon took us on a field trip to see the baby chicks at Cal Ranch on Saturday. They were adorably fluffy as usual but I am so glad that we don't have chicks because they are smelly little creatures.
Emmerlyn put together a book on American symbols and has been sharing it with anyone who will listen. Anchor was an especially captive audience.
The school put on a Dr Suess night and I took the kids. *go me* William stayed home to watch Anchor so it helped a lot. They got to play games and have a cookie, they had a great time.

Sometimes you just have to relax and play play-doh. I feel like it is just a great time to chat with the kids too because it is a non-threatening environment. We had a nice chat and made some beautiful flowers

I got pressured into coaching Emmerlyn's soccer team yesterday which is OK because I am trying to take a more hands on role in my life but honestly, I know nothing of soccer. I did myself some Youtube research and came up with some ideas and we had our first practice today. I roped William into helping me out and I think it is going to be ok. We only have 7 games, how bad can it be right?

William Says

William just left for his first Baptisms for the Dead temple trip. Hewas so excited when he got out of the car he slammed the door so hard it rocked the car 🚕.
He took some names that he found himself, I am so proud of the young man he is becoming

My new best friend

Yeah, that's right, I set my standards high. We have been without a dishwasher since before Christmas, our original one died, it wasn't getting the dishes clean but we weren't ready to buy a new one yet. The kids (and us) would wash the dishes by hand. The kids have not mastered yet the concept that if you are doing something you don't enjoy you do it as fast as you can so you can move on so it literally took them about 2 hours a day to wash the dishes. As you can imagine we have some much more time now to do other things. Oh the joys of modern existence.
Dora Jean and Allyn came by and all the girls were going through clothes and reshuffling them and Emmerlyn scored a few good finds and some fun dress-ups. Sallee made the comment that she never expected to be fighting Emmerlyn for hand-me-downs!
Emmerlyn volunteered to feed Anchor his baby cereal the other day and it sure helped me out a ton. She was very enthusiastic about every bite and he helped her out by only pretending to throw-up occasionally.
"Look how cool, you can use the vacuum to suck stuff up on the stairs!!!" Yes you sure can buddy, and you are most welcome to try that out anytime you want!
Tax season drones on, and on...

William Says

I was dropping William off at mutual tonight and they are going to the skating rink so I was like oh no I should have made you wear your gizmo, William was like "its not a big deal I just get rides home." I replied I know but what if you get lost. To which William said,"don't worry mom, I am unloseable!" and hoped out of the car.

STEM Night

Cute fatty baby. He is starting to sleep better so that is a win. Well he sleeps better when I am at work anyway....
The kids had a STEM night with ISU and they had so much fun. We got to have pizza and then they got to wander around and see what that was all about.

William had a band concert and was rockin' his tuba. We braved the 0 parking and and waited in line outside until they opened the door. It was freezing. But William did a great job and we are so proud of him.
She can read her scriptures on her own and she remembers to do it. I am so proud of her. She is such a sweet girl. Usually.
Cutie baby face.
It is springbreak this week and we are loving the break. I think we needed it. William brought it in with a bang by being sick but was doing better by Wednesday. Poor kiddo. The kids have played lots of legos and board games, ridden their bikes and we even broke out the Erector Set. It was kind of a low key break which was nice.

Temple Ground Breaking

Charley had the opportunity today to go with Sallee to the ground breaking for the Pocatello Idaho Temple. The rest of us got to watch it from home. He got to turn the soil in preparation for the building to begin. He took some great notes and they did not freeze!!

William has also had the opportunity to prepare for the Temple to come, he got to go with the youth from all of the stakes in the Temple district to clear the sage brush. It was freezing cold and so, so muddy but he did good work and had a lot of fun doing it.
It is so great to be able to feel the Spirit that comes with the building of a temple, hopefully we can keep it going forward and spend lots of time in there as a family.

Happy Birthday Ben

It's crazy how fast the year goes by. Happy Birthday to you Ben, I know it was busy as usual but we love you and we are so glad we got to celebrate with you. Good luck with the rest of Tax season, we hope to see you soon...
They had a Teddy Bear clinic at the hospital on Saturday so I took Charley, Emmerlyn, and Brevick to go get their animals checked out. They had lots of fun seeing the pretend set up.
Charley was interviewed and got to be on the news. He was pretty thrilled with himself.
They had fun checking out the life flight helicopter.

William also had his last basketball game of the season and they WON!!! He was pretty proud of himself. He made is goal of shooting a basket which he got the ball from a rebound so that is good progress for him.
After his game we loaded up and headed to Idaho Falls to see the little tiny bear world cubs. They were adorable. The kids go to pet them and Emmerlyn got to hold one. It was funny when the kids were petting this little sleeping one Anchor reached up and was petting Brevick's head. I guess he just wanted to get in on the action.
Tragically everyone looked good in this picture except me but here it is anyway. When they handed the little bear to Emmerlyn she squeezed it just a little *because she is used to holding Anchor who you need to have a strong grip on* and the little thing squealed and squealed, needless to say it startled everyone. She learned fast though and did a great job with the happy baby. Anchor loved the soft bear fur!!
I am glad that we have a couple weeks off before we hit soccer season in full force but I am certainly ready for spring to hit around here. Too bad it is supposed to snow tomorrow...
