Fun Visitors

The kids were super excited all week to have Aunt Jill and Uncle Shane and Makayla come and stay with us for a few days this weekend. The even stayed up until 10 waiting for them to get here. Then we played all weekend and finished it off with a nice hail storm where Jill and Shane were hiding in the car wash to protect their car. We had lots of fun and it was good to have some family around for awhile. Emmerlyn and Makayla got along pretty good for the most part but I think they were both ready to have their control back by the end of the weekend. We also got to go to William's little kindergarten play of Friday. He played the baby bear in Goldilocks and the 3 Bears. He did a fantastic job. We felt pretty bad though because there was just 1 boy that didn't have any of his family there and he was looking for them the whole time. If you are not going to go and watch your kid at least tell them before so they are not devastated when you don't show up! Sorry, I will get off my soapbox now I know it isn't my place and I understand that you can't be to everything but at least prep your little kindergartner for it so it doesn't break there little heart. Other then that the week went really well. Ben and the boys and Shane went fishing but naturally they didn't catch anything. I told William he was bad luck and so he was super confused all day. Ben and I had to speak in church on Sunday and the kids did pretty well I was proud of the littles. I think Emmerlyn is teething and she has been a BEAR these last couple days (it doesn't help that she played hard with her cousin) but wow she was a little over the top. Here's to hopin' they come in soon!
 Stormy Day
New shoes! Finally ones that aren't too tight on the top.
Ice cream break. They were all laughing so hard it was crackin' me up.
Little girl cousins So fun!
All of the little cousins, none of them would look at the camera except for William who was looking in ALL of the shots.
She wanted to go swimming again so she put on her swimming suit all by herself

 Fun Glasses
I love the look on Emmerlyn's face. Silly girl was SO grouch on Sunday!

What We've Been Up To. . .

Seriously, I don't think we have been up to much. I think that we have just kind of had one of those weeks. I just got put in Young Women's at Church and that is an adjustment for me. I am excited but I am having a hard time adjusting to the change. It will be good though. We didn't get a lot done last week but it was kind of nice. Ben studied and we played.
William had his end of year play. This is the only picture I really got, we video taped it but I can't upload it for some reason. He is in the front row in the denim jacket. He had a blast and did a great job. He has less then 2 weeks of school left I can't believe how much he has grown up in the last year.
Emmerlyn added a new fashion accessory it is a scarf in the form of Charley's pajama shirt. It looks nice don't ya think? Especially paired with her wipes clutch.
We played outside on the days when it wasn't yucky outside. The boys were "feeding the ants" grass. What ever makes them happy.
We had the ending lunch for William's Kindergarten Royalty contest. (I wasn't going to do this but a sweet 85 year old lady in our ward who runs it with another lady kept at it until I finally just did. They put boxes all over town and then people put money in each kid's box for votes it is a fundraiser.) William didn't win but every kid got a prize bag which was full of stuff as you can see so he has had fun playing with that.

Charley and Emmerlyn are blowing  "dandelion pups" as Charley calls them (I think he misheard someone say puff).
Charley was supposed to be asleep but instead he was building a "sidewalk" to his bed. Go him for creativity. This is the reason that they only have pjs and underwear in their room!

It's Been Warm!

We have been really enjoying the warm weather these last few days and spending a lot of time outside. It is so nice and I know that the summer is going to get hot so we better enjoy these good warm days while they last. It was also Mothers day so I wanted to grab a picture of my cute kids from this last week. Aren't they so clean and fresh in their jammies? They were just out of the tub so they didn't even smell like dirt. It's the little things in life right.
This is one of the cutest kids that I know. Don't you just want to squeeze him? I do and so I do squeeze him. A lot. He loves it. I asked him on Sunday what he learned in class he said he learned about "bubbles, teachers, pastors, prophets, and. . . PAPER AIRPLANES!" Perfect well rounded education he is getting in nursery. We have been learning the 6th Article of Faith at home this month so I think that is where he got some of that. He was a little crazy in Sacrament meeting Ben had to pass the Sacrament so I had the kids by myself and I was busy trying to keep Emmerlyn quiet because all she wanted to do was run to Ben and when I looked down at Charley he was laying on the bench with his feet hanging over the edge swinging his feet out in then aisle. Oh well at least he was quiet.
William is an elusive creature to photograph this was the best shot I could get. He is such a big boy now and  he pretty much loves EVERYTHING. He loves to talk to me and so he does pretty much non-stop. He was an ANGEL in church he sat quietly the whole time except for when he asked if he could invite the boy sitting behind us to come play at our house this week. I told him we would ask him later not during the Sacrament. We are earning tokens now for doing what we are supposed to in our house and getting our cleaning zone done and he is doing great he has quiet a stockpile Ben is worried he is going to save them all up and then cash them in and break the bank. He really loves earning things and he is doing a great job setting the example for the other two.
BUSY GIRL. She is into EVERYTHING and she is trying her best to keep up with her brothers. She has learned to scowl and is doing it to EVERYONE if they talk to her. She is really into baby dolls (like mother like daughter I guess :) and trucks. She loves trucks. She is also working really hard to learn to jump. She is starting to sleep a little better but she is also trying to cut more teeth so she is a little crabby lately.
We painted with droppers. They LOVED it.
The boys picked me some lovely Mother's Day flowers. I smell them everyday and they smile when they see it. They are so proud of themselves.
We made bread this morning and my assistants (i.e. Charley and Emmerlyn) got a little crazy with the yeast. We got HUGE loaves in about half them normal time. We will have to see how they taste!

Not Much

Sadly I must admit we haven't been up to much this last week. Emmerlyn has had a cold and has REFUSED to go to bed or stay asleep so there have been a lot of LONG nights but other then that we have just kinda been cruising.
On Friday we were going to have pizza for dinner but Ben texted me and said he wanted Mexican food. There is nowhere here to get good Mexican food and that is one thing that we really miss. So I was left to my own devices and thanks to Pintrest it actually turned out really good. We were both pretty satisfied with it.
I was trying to distract the kids on Sunday morning while Ben was in his meeting and I was trying to get myself ready for church so I just typed in puppies on google and pulled up the image page for Emmerlyn to look at (she is obsessed with puppies) and when I came out a little later all of the kids were looking at it and William was scrolling down and clicking on them so they could get a better look.
We finally set up Emmerlyn's bigger crib. I think it was getting too squishy in her mini-crib. She was really excited wen we set it up and she wanted to get right in but when it came time for her to commit to it that night she had a pretty big breakdown. I don't think that was caused by the new bed however so hopefully it is short lived.
This is what happens when you only get short snippets of sleep at night. She fell asleep in the 2 minute ride home from exercise and didn't stir at all when I brought her in from the car and set her down. Too bad the mom who was up with her all night wasn't getting to sleep next to her!
