Smuffers

Emmerlyn has been cracking me up lately, she makes up about 50% of her descriptive words. Like today she said "somebody woke me up from my rest, it was a smuffers, Brevicky is a smuffers. "

Doin' good.

Yes I am still tired, is it bed-time already? But, we made it through last week and we are doing ok today. Brevick slept in 2 hour increments last night so I am exhausted but he has actually napped today, he took a morning nap that was like an hour and a half and then 2 naps this afternoon that we about 45 minutes each. I tell you what he was like a totally different kid, seriously, he has laughed and babbled all day, he let me put him down and played for like 15 to 20 minutes at a time. I hope this is the beginning of a new trend because he was so fun! We got out the exersaucer and Emmerlyn was showing him the ins and outs of playing with it. You can see he was listening very intently :)
Charley's preschool does a color on each Wednesday and they are supposed to wear that color and also bring a show-and-tell that is that color. Last Wednesday it was purple and he doesn't have any purple clothes so this is the outfit he put together. I think it works for him :). The kids (minus Brevick miraculously) have had a cold for the last week or so and Charley was so tired that on Friday at school he kept trying to curl up on the floor and take a nap. When he got home he slept for 2.5hrs. I felt bad for the little guy but he seems to be doing better now.
Since Ben was out of town last week and he doesn't really like pancakes or breakfast food, we at pancakes pretty much every night (don't judge!) (P.S. that is coolwhip on his pancake stack not butter) They were pumpkin pancakes and they were YUMMY!
We shook it up a little and some nights we cut 'em up and some nights we stacked 'em.
One night we had them with bacon, it doesn't get any better than that right :)
Charley saw this outfit the other day when we were at the store and he HAD to get it because Brevick doesn't have any firetruck shirts (that is serious business!) I let him because he loved it so much and because Brevick seems to be a little short on clothes in the size range that he is currently in (which is the 6-9 months, I can't believe how big he is!) I love to watch the relationships developing between Brevick and each of his siblings, he reacts so differently with them, it is so fun to see.
I curled my hair with these on Sunday and she wanted to do hers too. After we were done putting them in she looked in the mirror and said "we look 'idiculouses' (ridiculous)" and then laughed and laughed. She was excited when she found out that we actually take them out before we leave the house!
Pumpkin carving! (I'm so glad that's over!) Emmerlyn did NOT want to clean out the guts, I made her touch them though before I would do it for her.
The finished products. I think they turned out just how the kids wanted them.Charley's had 2 sets of eyes, William had vampire teeth on all parts (eyes, nose and mouth (top and bottom) and Emmerlyns just had the face she picked out.
It FROZE!!!!!! It even snowed just a little and Emmerlyn said it for all of us when she said "I told you when it snowed the bugs would go away and die!) and I haven't seen any today and I am so happy.
He was testing out a winter hat but it is too big and it kept coming onto his eyes which did NOT make him happy! I wonder where the smaller one went. . . .
On a positive note I found our baby bibs that I have been looking for for the last 3 weeks. They were tucked away in the highchair, who knew?!

Simply Tired

I think that this is the common theme for blog topics for I don't know, the last year maybe? Does it ever get better? Hopefully it does. Ben is out of town this whole week so we are keeping busy living life on our own and fighting with the wasps and hornets in the garage and around our car (can't it just freeze and kill them already????) Poor baby Brevick got 2 mosquito bites yesterday before I could get him sprayed when we went for William's soccer practice. Brevick is being a stinker and not sleeping real well at night but he is growing like a weed and biting on everything so I'm wondering if he is starting to teethe? If so it could be a long process. . .
We took a picture before we went to church the other week. (William refused to smile because he didn't get to wear the suspenders that you wouldn't have been able to see under his suit coat. He continued to sulk all through Sacrament Meeting and in the car ride on the way home.)
Emmerlyn got invited to go to a princess party last Thursday and she had such a great time! They did hair and painted nails and watched princess movies. She went with a cute little cartigan with her dress but "I had to took it off so I can DANCE!!!" funny girl.
She wanted her hair curled the other day and I just think she looks so precious. I need to remember this face when it is 11 pm and she still isn't asleep!
On Monday while Charley was in school Emmerlyn got to go to our neighbor across the street and decorate Halloween cookies. She had such a fun time and did a great job!
William also got 100% on his spelling pretest this week and is so proud of himself I am proud ofDisplaying 20141020_153846.jpg
him too, he studied hard and really tried. What a great boy! I also got to go to his school and eat lunch with him yesterday. He was excited to show me and tell me about his lunch rules and at one point he leaned over to me and said (that's one of the not so nice lunch teachers) I loved being able to spend some time with him and I walked out to the play-field with him and he introduced me to his friend and then said "ok mom you can leave now!" he is so great!

I Don't Even Know.

Honestly I don't know what we do all day everyday. William had another soccer game and he did great. Charley had his second clogging class and he still loves it so that's good. Emmerlyn has been making dresses out of plastic (I don't know where she gets it?)
Ben has been working hard for the Tax Deadline that is today, I think he worked until literally midnight on Monday.
Brevick has been keeping me busy and tired by getting up lots in the night and taking very short power naps. He is super cute though so that helps. I started feeding him rice cereal but I felt like he was spitting up a lot more so I stopped thinking I would wait a few more weeks and see if he could handle it better. Well, at lunchtime yesterday I set him in his Bumbo so he could be with us while we ate (not crying or having to be held) and he got so excited and was watching everyone eat and kept looking at me and opening his mouth like he was ready for a bite that I felt so bad that I wasn't feeding him so I caved and made him some cereal (which when I got up to get it he started to cry because he thought he wasn't going to get any food :(. He ate it really good and can eat a full serving so I guess I will just keep feeding it to him. We went to the park this weekend in Fort Peck while Ben worked and it was fun (I would prefer no gnats next time why can't it kill them already?!!!) Sometimes I think a little fresh air makes all the difference!

Happy 3 Emmerlyn!!!!!!

I know it has gone fast! This pretty girl is 3 already

She got lots of great presents and cards and she is set with some fun new stuff that she has been enjoying.

She wanted to wear a ladybug dress to go with her lady bug cake. (Yes those would be emergency candles in her cake because in my awesomeness I seemed to have misplaced the birthday candles, go me.)

She was testing out the 2nd dress from the Rydalch's that is too small to see if she could wear it. It's a no go, I think I am seeing a little too much leg :) Luckily the other one fits perfectly!

Conference

So I have been trying to get this up for a few days now, it has been that kind of a week. Crazy, exhausting, finally over kind of a week. But! We lived.
Brevick tried rice cereal for the first time. As you can see he wasn't super excited at first. Today he did better and was excited to see the food but was a little disappointed that the bottle that I used to make it wasn't going into his mouth next.
The tent. We got serious because it wouldn't stay up. I tell you what it didn't fall down after that :)

Conference trail mix. They love it. (So do I. Ben doesn't, he just eats the marshmallows and dips them in ganache.)
It is fire safety week in Glasgow and this guy got to go to the fire station for school and came home with this really cool hat. He is good to say 911 is not for fun and has been mapping out the fire escapes in our house. *when he got home and took his hat off Emmerlyn dropped it and it popped apart because there had been two stuck together when it was given to him. He said "no! Miss Ronica said only 1 had for each person we have to take it back!" So we did and he was so proud of himself telling her about it and giving her the extra one. What a great kid!
The fire fighters are coming to William's school tomorrow and he is super excited!

Brevick's 4 Month Stats

Wow it really does go by fast. . . somehow. He is going to be 4 months on the 4 which is CRAZY!!! we took a little visit to the Dr yesterday and he weighed in at 15 lbs 8oz (56%) and he is 25 and 3/4in long (81%) so he is kind of a long solid guy. He as a few scrawny rolls on his legs but because he is so long he doesn't look very chubby. We love him and now we just need him to sleep. . . .
