Thanksgiving

Was awesome! We had a fantastic trip home and played hard and ate. . . a lot. We got Thanksgiving on Thursday AND Friday so you really can't go wrong with that right. The kids had so much fun seeing their Aunts, Uncles, and Grandparents and Ben and I had a good time just being able to relax and have a week away. It has been hard getting back into the school and work routine but we are getting along. This is short but to those of you who are waiting for pictures you will have to keep waiting because our computer is on the fritz (of course!). We love you all!

To Catch Up

Last week Ben was sick on Friday then in the wee hours of Saturday morning we embarked on the long 10 hour drive back to Idaho to visit all of our awesome family for Thanksgiving (we missed you Fletcher). We lucked out and got a lot done while we were there and ALL of our Christmas shopping. That is your explanation for the missing post.

Yay for Finished Projects

This is for me. I just wanted to document that I had a project that I finished that actually turned out not to shabby. I think I am getting a little better and it makes me happy. I even sewed an elastic pocket at the bottom. Go Me. (This is my blog and I can pretty much put on it what I want :). This is a water-proof car-seat protector because we are about to leave on a super long drive and I would like something that is easily removable and washable underneath the little Bug's bum because you just never know what she is going to do or when she will feel like dumping an entire sippy of milk in her lap!

Goobs

‎2 years ago when I made rolls for Thanksgiving I had to hide the rising dough from my little dog. This year I have to hide it from Charley who is trying to eat it all. Crazy boy!

No Pictures

I'm not really sure why but we have no pictures to prove that we existed this week. So for those who are wondering, we are alive. This last week has been a little busy. Ben had to go out of town for a few days on an audit and the kids and I took dinner to a family in our ward and went to my presidency meetings and then we had our Relief Society meeting on Thursday so they came with me to that. When we were done we discovered that winter was here. I found out that they have not canceled the Glasgow schools since the 1970s and if it is really bad outside they just cancel the buses and parents get to drive all of their kids on the nasty roads individually. That is a little frustrating especially because they didn't have the area around the school cleared out so then they had all of those cars there and it was kind of messy. Oh well life goes on right. We got a bunch of snow over the weekend and the roads were pretty yucky. Luckily Ben made it home safe and sound and we are glad to have him back. We had to speak in Sacrament meeting on Sunday and on Saturday afternoon William started throwing up. Awesome. Then in the back of our minds we wondered maybe they would cancel church. They talked about it before but we didn't really feel like we could pray for that :) so we kind of worked out a game plan and crossed our fingers. Luckily William was doing good Sunday morning and we were able to speak and then Ben had to teach and I had to conduct and play in RS and we got home and had a nap and then Charley started throwing up. We were blessed with an opportunity to talk and we really felt like we were remembered that day. Now Ben and I both don't feel good so we should all be healthy by this weekend when we get to head to Idaho for the week.William's soccer game last week was canceled because of the voting and so he will have his last game tonight and he is pretty excited. Have a great week!

From the mouth of Goobs

I love it when Charley wraps his arms around me and says "you're my best mommy, mom" I think he is my best Charley!

Something's on my Hands!

Just in case people are wondering I am still the mother of a little boy who is very much almost 3. Charley has kept me on my toes this last week! It is a good thing he is cute. The other day he was downstairs playing then he came up and I went down there later to find that he had one by one dropped all of the pins off my pin cushion down the small hole at the top of my sewing machine. Awesome I though, I will deal with that later. I grabbed what I needed and headed back upstairs. I had been gone at the very most maybe 5 minutes and in that time Charley had dumped out an entire pitcher of water on the table and let it all run off (William was happy to tell me there were 2 waterfalls but he didn't do it!) On a different day he dumped out a huge box of screws and scattered them around the basement, sprayed Emmerlyn with an entire spray bottle full of water (poor girl was soaked but I think she was enjoying it) he also loves to dump out all the toys while William is trying to clean them up. While I was exercising he ran into the Chapel, turned on all the lights, turned on the Organ and was playing it as fast as he could in the time it took me to chase him down after leaving the gym. These are just a few of his activities. I promise I don't leave him alone for maybe 5 minutes at the most he is just that quick. On Friday I was working on some shades for our living room  window and I went downstairs to get them I grabbed them and came right back up and as I walked around from the kitchen Charley yelled to me "Mom, something's on my hands?" This is what I came in to find he had emptied 2 tubes of lotion and a tube of sunscreen that he found in the diaper bag all over the couch and he had also wiped it on the TV. Needless to say it took FOREVER to get it off his hands and the shout be silky smooth and albino white for a long time to come. I guess he is just curious but I had to laugh really hard when the Missionaries stopped by on Friday after all week of this and commented about how much our home can be like Heaven it made me wonder about the saying rest in peace because if this is what Heaven is like peace and rest are not the words I would have picked!
That being said I wouldn't trade one single minute of this. This crazy boy gives the tightest hugs the sweetest kisses and has the most angelic little voice I think I have ever heard. I think that a heaven like this would be great (as long as I got enough sleep the night before :)
Oh,deer! We came out on Saturday morning and discovered something was a little off with our pumpkins at first we thought someone had smashed it but on closer examination we could see that it had been eaten. We laughed because the deer had pulled the top off and the candle out and eaten the shell of only Charley's pumpkin. On Sunday morning they had drug it out into the yard and nibbled on it.
Charley was a little sad that his pumpkin had been eaten and William was trying to console him by telling him that it was ok "they just ate his because it wasn't as scary as mine." It is the thought that counts right.
William had another soccer game this week and did pretty good during the first game he was a lot more aggressive then he had been in the past they had a double game and so by the end of it he was super tired and ready to go to bed. Charley ran laps around the gym through the whole first game and then during the second game he just spent the time trying to get into anything he possibly could. Crazy boy.
Emmerlyn is doing good this week she has a nasty little could and with daylight savings time the kids have been getting up between 4 and 5 in the morning everyday no matter when we put them to bed (have I mentioned I hate daylight savings time with a passion). Oh well, the spring will come soon and we will be able to sleep in until like 6 or 7 (dreamin' big I know:) Ben is out of town for the next 2 days so we will see how together life is when he gets home. We are getting super excited to go to Idaho on a week from Saturday! It will be nice to get away as a family for a little break.

Halloween 2012

The homemade lady bug. She looked pretty cute I think. She kept trying to eat the tulle
Charley was a golfer and he kept asking when he was going to get to golf. He played every game at the ward party but continued to ask for the golf game and looked in every room for it. Silly boy.

William was Spiderman and he thought he was pretty tough.
The back of her costume.

They had face painting at our ward party and they did a great job with William's face. He was pretty proud. They painted one thing on Charley's face and then he kept asking them to paint more stuff on there and wanted them to use all of their colors so he ended up with quite the face.

We had homemade pizza for dinner per William's request and we did a little trick or treating. Unfortunately it was freezing (it always is) but the kids got some candy and some toys from our neighbors so they had fun.
