A hickie

Anchor and Brevick have been working hard in their lifted classes, called alpha. They have a garden that they are taking care of. Thanks to the alpha teacher for taking pictures. She takes great care of the kids.

The other morning Brevick showed up to breakfast with a mysterious mark on his forehead.  I assumed it was just a pressure mark from sleeping on it funny. Well, it was still there when he got home from school.  After some probing questions I found out that he had put a suction dart on his head. So it was a hickie. Silly boy, it took a week to fade away and he was super grateful for his long hair to cover it up at school.

Spiderman boy reading a book about spiderman. He is a great reader but prefers video games
We had a huge storm go through and knock out our power for a couple of hours. Luckily we had Flashlights to blind people with and games to play.

He put himself to bed while I was gone the other day. He is coming down with a cold so he's a little extra tired.

1 week in

We've apparently been loving on the dog a lot. Anchor even made her a bed. I told him she wouldn't get on it but naturally she hopped right up.

The week went OK. William's schedule needed a lot of work which he struggled to get it all fixed. He still has a grudge against school counselors. Charley settled right in and thinks he'll like his classes. Emmerlyn was doing ok but then the one friend she had in her class is moving so she's going to be all alone...I hate that for her. Brevick says he has the mean teacher but all of his friends are in there so I think he'll be ok. Anchor of course loves school and his teacher but is very concerned this year about bullies so we will have to watch out for that.

First Day of School 2024

That was a short summer. We honestly didn't do much. We had fun with family visiting and swam in the pool. A lot.  But we made it back to school.

A year of lasts

Well, it has come. William is a senior. I can't believe that we have reached this day, it didn't feel like it would come so long ago when he was little and sweet. Now he is big but still a little sweet. He is a great kid and I hope that all his dreams and plans come to fruition and that he has the year of his dreams. He has a rigorous senior schedule that should help to set him up for a future college career but he is counting on a lot of fun to go with it. If you are looking for a memory, here's his first day of kindergarten post

And thus, it begins...

Happy Birthday Anchor!

Wow, you are six. Boy are you ready. You told everyone you saw at meet the teacher day that it was your birthday. You had a list of present wishes a mile long, and you couldn't decide on a cake until the last minute when you finally settled on Pikachu. You love everything, playing on tablets and swimming in the pool you are getting to be a better swimmer everyday and are so excited to learn new things. You love it when people play with you and are even willing to have me force them into it. You love pizza, nuggets, and pasta with red sauce. You pretty much hate everything else you try. We sure love you though!
