From the Mouth of Goobs

A few nights ago Brevick had a really rough night and so when morning finally rolled around it was all I could do to peel myself out of bed. Emmerlyn's sleep had also been disrupted by Brevicks mid-night antics and she informed her brothers and Dad that she and I had been up ALL night with Brevicky and so she was super tired and cranky. Charley responded "uh, Emmerlyn, technically you are ALWAYS cranky." I laughed until I couldn't breathe. He is quick witted and doesn't miss a beat!

Easter 2016

We had a good Easter holiday this weekend and it was nice to have the kids home from school. I decided that I need to invest in more decorations because I felt like the holiday just came and went without much thought in our household. We dyed eggs, went to the Easter Egg hunt and got a visit from the Bunny but it just seems like it went so fast and almost unnoticed.
*Please excuse the untidy living room, it was at the bottom of the to-do list this weekend!*
The big kids got roller blades and Brevick got some new snuggle bunnies. They were stoked! Brevick is a little bummed he didn't get blades and I caught him yesterday with Emmerlyn's pair and heading for the stairs so he could roller blade downstairs like he has seen the big kids doing. He has had a few trial runs and loved it, we may have to upgrade Emmerlyn soon so we can pass her's down!
Taking Snuggles on a bike ride.
He was hiding in the shelves in the storage room. Cute little duck. He went to nursery on Sunday and stayed the whole time. We tricked him and had a friend take him and drop him off. He figured it out pretty fast as soon as they rounded the corner in the hall but after a few minutes of tears he calmed down and did great! Hopefully it will keep getting better!
Brevick's fashion sense. He doesn't have much, he has Emmerlyn's skirt around his neck and he has his legs in the arm holes of a shirt. What a stud! I do wish he would stop getting into her clothes though. . .
Life is pretty much a lot of the same old going on here. We are getting excited for conference this weekend and I loved the women's broadcast on Saturday! I am getting excited for the end of tax season in just a few short weeks!!

Happy St. Patrick's Day

Charley was a little disappointed that the Leprechaun didn't destroy his classroom and leave glitter all over the school like he did last year. (*his preschool teacher is awesome and goes all out for this holiday!*) but he had lots of fun wearing green. Emmerlyn and Brevick wanted to make a treat and so we got some leftover cake from the freezer and when we went to make the frosting they found that somebody had added green food coloring. . . Emmerlyn was very concerned at first because she was under the impression that leprechauns turn things green by peeing on them *thanks brothers!* but was excited to find out that they just touched them with their nice clean hands! Brevick didn't care, he just likes frosting. After picking the boys up Emmerlyn was excitedly telling them what had happened and that the cake had also magically got green sprinkles on it while they were resting before they ate it and William responded "Really?! All I got was 4 rollos and a mustache and some little kid on the bus stole my mustache!" I laughed all night at that!
Ben is doing taxes, lots of them and we are working out the details of our upcoming Kitchen remodel which is more stressful than I thought it would be! I am so indecisive but we are going forward so I am super excited!

Snuggle Tunnel

Last week was the end of tumbling for this year. It was a bummer that we had to miss a whole week of it due to fevers but Emmerlyn had a blast. I was a little worried that she would be nervous without Charley but she wasn't. She is working on her headstands and her cartwheel now. I was also nervous that I would spend the whole tumbling hour chasing him out of the class but he did great up until the last 2 days. Then he realized what he was missing and that was the end of peace as we know it. Hopefully next year he is big enough to distract with my phone :). The last day they had a tunnel and he was DYING to crawl through and just as luck would have it we have one too so we got it out and he played in it. lots.
He is also going through a funky phase where he likes to wear other people's pants. The ones below are Emmerlyn's (they actually fit really well at the waist but as you can see they are too long.)
These ones are Charley's. They do not fit around the waist and are very much too long.
Life has just been the same for the rest of us. Ben is lost in taxes. I am just hanging out watching TV. Or something, j/k I think I would go crazy if I sat and watched TV all day but that would be fun once.
William is cruising along in school and scouts. He told Ben his favorite part of school was talking to people. Ben told him he would like debate. He is also counting the years until he is a teenager. Which is 4 for those of you who are wondering. Charley is working hard rolling down the muddy hill at recess, practicing his piano, and telling me he hates all the food that I cook. Emmerlyn has been surviving TV free week and was really excited to cross the days off. I have loved TV free week that I may or may not be stretching it out as long as I possibly can. . .

Ben's had a Birthday!!!

So we got to celebrate Ben's #32 birthday last night and we did so by eating fukitas. Yep I typed that right and yep you said it in your head right. For some reason our kids last night were really struggling remembering how to say FAJITA. Ben and I cringed each time and I really hope that they figure it out before they say it in front of somebody else. Then we had cake and presents. I think he had a fairly good day and I think his best present is that he is finally starting to feel better from his cold. He still has some pretty bad congestion but the worst is over!
He requested a red velvet better than anything cake and that is what he got. It turned out so rich that we have only eaten the first row of it so far but I think we will be able to get it all down eventually!
This week the kids have been getting over their colds so we have been on auto pilot. I tell you what it was a bear of a virus and took them a few days to get over the worst of it but they are all still coughing. We have been enjoying the warmer weather lately and the kids have been out riding bikes. Brevick LOVES to be outside and has been doing lots of crying during his inside time because he wants to go back out. It is going to be a long summer. . . I don't want to go outside.
If you look close he not only has the garbage can on his head but Snuggle Puff is inside of it. You can see his little ears poking down by his neck :)
Snuggles had to get washed yesterday and the whole time he was missing Brevick would get a concerned look on his face about every 10 minutes and then say "nuggles wash? nuggles wash?" it was so sad/cute it melted my heart. Thankfully snuggles is back in action today!
This guy made this quill pen at school and has been waiting for the ink that he ordered from amazon to get here and it finally did so he was testing it out. He had fun but when he was done he told me that he was "glad we don't have to use feathers anymore. that takes forever!"
This is Charley's mid-term. He was excited to say that his teacher didn't even test him like she did all the other kids because she knew that he already knew all that stuff! He was thrilled to get the extra playtime.
Young Women Personal Progress book holders for our incoming new beehives this year. They turned out super cute I am excited for the girls to have them. *and hopefully use them!*
Last week was a long one and I am sure glad it is a new one!!!

A Little Paint

So with Ben working. A lot. sometimes I get itchy to do projects so in the spirit of Tax Season I painted our living/dining area. I love it. It really makes a big difference. You have to excuse the REALLY old before picture, it is the only one I could find quickly that shows the whole room. *on a side note, look at how little they are!!!!!

Harry Potter?

Well it is once again Dr. Suess I love to read week at the boys' school and in the spirit of it they have been dressing up. Monday was sweatpants day and you can imagine what they looked like. I didn't feel like a photo was necessary. Today was dress like your favorite character and since William just finished the 3rd Harry Potter book this last week and we watched the movie on Saturday they both wanted to be Harry. *Fletcher we were wishing we could have borrowed your robe. . .  Emmerlyn also wanted to take part in the action. They turned out pretty cute though don't ya think?!

Just a quick snapshot of her wardrobe choice. Sometimes I love it. Sometimes I hate it but she can rock just about any outfit!

Last week the weather was BEAUTIFUL!!! On Friday we got the bikes out for the big boys and after watching for about 5 minutes in the window Brevick was frantically trying to put on anyones shoes and open the door saying " 'ide! 'ide?!" So I took him out and got him something to ride. He was loving it he really wanted to ride in the road though so that is going to be a fight!. The boys did good but William did crash and got a nice cut on his elbow and knee along with a pretty awesome bruise. Poor kiddo. They had lots of fun and are ready to get back out there but it snowed. So now we wait.

Since it is not quite spring yet we are sick once again with croup. Ben has it, Emmerlyn is just now getting over it. Charley is fighting it and Brevick just started in the night. I am ready for sunshine and vitamin D!! We finished up New Beginnings last week so that is nice to not have to worry about that anymore. Charley is doing great in his piano lessons and William is learning a Star Wars song so he is super pumped about that! I think as long as I have a fun song to go along with the work songs then they are pretty good to practice. Mostly. *I may or may not also directly link happy practice time to the privilege of playing the computer. . . * either way, something is working!
Ben is super busy at work but he likes to do taxes so that works out!
