1st Hair Cut

William before his cut (note the breakfast jam on his face and the cheese puff in his mouth)
After William's Hair cut, he looks pretty good and is not traumatized from the event.
Before The Cut: see his sweet little fluffies and his happy smile?

After: No more fluffies, and the whole experience ruined his day.

Well I guess it is about time that I cut his hair since he is 1 and it stands up and fluffs out about a mile, hangs down over his ears, and gets in his eyes. I just haven't wanted to because I feel like they look so much older when they have neatly trimmed hair. I finally bit the bullet today and cut his soft fluffy hair and it looks good and he looks older. It is shorter than I wanted to go but I think that it will have to do until it grows back. Aw my sweet little baby is turning into a little boy faster than I can blink my eyes.

They Grow So Fast

These are my cute little boys in their adorable big boy shoes. As you can see William's pants are a little bit short, he is really starting to grow. Charley is comfortably wearing 18month clothes and those are size 5 shoes. They grow so fast!

This is sweet little Charley, he thought that this was a good idea and and a lot of fun pushing himself around the kitchen in his little dump truck, I kept reminding him that this was not a good plan but he just smiled his gooey little smile and kept right on riding until like we all can anticipate, it dumped him. He is a little more careful now. Not much has changed in our lives, with Ben going to school 3 nights a week and me working 2 nights a week we are just trying to survive until April when he will only have class twice a week until July when he will graduate with his Masters. I can't wait until then and we can start real life; whatever that means? I have my fingers crossed that we can make it but I am not yet convinced.

24

Sorry, there are no cute pictures to go along with this post because lets face it, they just don't exist at this time in my life. Seriously, who would take pictures of themselves when they have 2 adorable children to fill up the memory card? Well I can't say that being 24 has brought many great changes or wisdom so far but I guess I can give it a few more days. I had a good birthday I worked the night before and the girls at work gave me a delicious Oreo cake and then i was a little tired but Ben got a babysitter for the kids and then we went to Olive Garden for dinner. I haven't been there in forever so I was really excited to go. It was kind of relaxing on a busy Friday night to see everybody there bustling around and hurrying from table to table and in and out of the restaurant and then to just sit there and watch and realize that I had no part in the hurry and I could just take in the time spent with my husband. It was wonderful. We picked up the kids and got them home only to discover that William had a fever of 103 so we dosed him with Tylenol and Motrin and stripped him down and I got up almost hourly to check on him. The fever went down with the medication but was still there so first thing in the morning we took him in to the doctor he had Influenza. This was great, I had been needing to get him and Charley their flu shot but was waiting until Charley was one and so it just hadn't happened yet, I guess it never will now because Charley came down with it yesterday and we spent the night up with him. William is doing a little better today so hopefully they can both heal fast and get back to their busy selves. I felt like a terrible mother though when this happened because I had not prevented it when maybe I could have. I will definitely be better about that in the years to come. Well Happy Birthday to me and I hope the year to come is as great as the last one. I am so lucky to have all of the things in my life that I have including a wonderful husband and 2 adorable sons and all of the great family and friends that I have out there. I love you all and thank you for making me into the person I am today for better or worse.

1 Year Old

Happy little Boy

A little disgusted with the cake thing.

Happy Birthday Boy!

His cake, cake decorating is NOT one of my talents

January 9th was Charley's first birthday. Wow that has gone fast. I can't believe this sweet little boy is that old. He is doing so good, he can walk when he wants to but gets going to fast for his chubby little legs and then tips over but that is ok with me. He says mama, dad and no and he can say my little sister's name Allyn and he is so proud. He loves to get into things and is just starting to climb up on chairs, boxes, and other random stuff. His new favorite thing to do is to feed the dog his food from his hands, he gets a real kick out of that. He loves to play with anything that William plays with and has really started to keep William on his toes. William was very frustrated that Charley got presents on his birthday and he didn't get any. We tried to explain it to him but he is a little frustrated. I love for him to laugh and I can't seem to get enough of his loveys and his smiles. We love our little Goobies.

Merry Christmas Mom

Well as usual my attempts at projects don't work out as well as I would like but what do you do. This quilt was for my mom and it had to be given to her unfinished because my sewing machine broke down beyond help and it was too late to do anything about it. This was supposed to be a gift from her daughters and you can see that it has family christmas pictures on it so that she can remember us when the whole family is not together for Christmas. I have got to learn not to procrastinate. I also thought that I would make some dessert for Christmas dinner but I did not have Evaporated milk so I spent 45 minutes on Christmas morning evaporating my own milk. Story of my life jumping into things unprepared, someday I will learn. I hope. Here is to 2011 being a better and more prepared year.

Christmas 2010

Charley waking up and not real sure about the camera in his room first thing in the morning.

A little more excited

William and Charley ready to go open presents

The Tree

Well it came and went faster than we wanted it too. NOT. I love Christmas but I think that I make myself into a Christmas monster and then this sweet season goes from being warm, relaxing, and inviting to being stressful, intense, and cantankerous. At that point I am ready for Christmas to come quickly and be gone so that I can hopefully re-establish harmony and even-temperedness in my home. Christmas was good this year and I think that we all got some great gifts and it was good to feel the Christmas spirit in our home. William is already talking about having Christmas again he had a great year and is ready for more. It was Charley's first Christmas and he did great, he loved opening each present and then playing with all of his new toys and William's.

CAUTION! Not for the weak of Stomach!

Merry Christmas Mom!

This was a sweet present from my little boy on Christmas Eve. I guess the day was just too much for the little dude and so by the time we got home that night from Grandma and Grandpa Allen's house he just couldn't contain himself any more. I think that he overate he just has no self control and will eat until he literally can't fit any more inside his little belly and then the slightest jar and he loses it. I guess it could have been worse, we could have been trying to clean this out of the car on a could Christmas Eve right. Barf or not I still think he is a cute little Goobies.

Can You See Them

This is documentation of William 'teaching' Charley how to look out the window. They make pretty cute little shadows don't you think?

Pre-Christmas Exhaustion

I worked at the beginning of Christmas week and I just could not get in my groove so I felt extremely exhausted on Wednesday. I vaguely remember William telling me that he was hungry and wanted some cereal. I told him to get it himself knowing that the bag of cereal was on the table. I think that I remember him telling me that he couldn't reach the bowls and somewhere in my semi-conscious state I told him just to find one. Well this is what he found and I woke up later to him crunching away on frosted flakes. What an awesome mom huh?
