October is Over

Anchor practiced his public speaking complete with a DIY podium.

Ben and William worked to put in a new hand-me-down TV from Ben's old work. Only to find out it was broken.
Pumpkin time.
Everyone but Anchor pretty much carved their own.

Halloween
Dog photo bomb
Selfcare skin care mask. She felt like a new woman.
Emmerlyn made a sock sweater for her rat.
He hated it and had it off in 30 seconds.
He prefers to be naked.
Anchor took some time to read to the dog, just to keep him in the loop.
Jack snuggled Quinlee for a bit. They are good buddies.
Jill gave us a dog tip. He loved the frozen carrots.
Pollee got spayed so she enjoyed some snuggly couch time.
Anchor dug right in to the Halloween box.
Anchor had a field trip to the pumpkin patch. I blinded him trying to get his picture on the hayride. He had tons of fun and picked the perfect pumpkin.

It was a tough choice.

Anchor thought jack needed ALL of his toys to sleep with.
Jack agreed.
We actually remembered school picture day this year.
I think they looked so nice. Emmerlyn wanted her hair straightened so she would look older. Which she did.
William was napping on the floor.
So Pollee joined him.
Brevick will not stay off the banisters. This picture is to document his happy choice because someday he's going to fall to his doom.

A Hunting We Will Go

Well, not we but he. William has gotten up before the crack of dawn for the last couple of days to go duck hunting with his friends. He came back tired, hungry, and empty handed but full of good stories and a little caffeine. He really had a great time and it is good to see him getting out and trying new things even if they do cause me inordinate amounts of stress.
Just a couple of doggy pictures so we remember that we still have them. Jack is growing everyday and for the most part we really love him. Charley is learning that the downside to having a smart dog is you have to work with and challenge him everyday.
Pollee is still her huffy self but we love her anyway.
This picture is a good example of why she and Brevick have a love/hate relationship.
Ben was out of town in Kansas City for a business trip over General Conference weekend but we still pitched our tent and watched the whole thing. I love the family time and learning of our Savior and the kids love the snacks!
This guy is loving preschool and getting psych'd up for Halloween. He wears his bones sweatshirt every chance he gets and ask about it regularly.
Charley has decided to try wrestling so he started practice with the school team this last week and already has had a wrist injury. I think it will be good for him though and he is still in good spirits enjoying the practices so far. He also started Math Counts (like a math competitive league) after school so he is a busy guy that is almost always in need of a shower or a nap. He is a good guy though and I love seeing him trying new things and getting involved.
Brevick is starting the GATE program (gifted and talented) on Monday. This is an answer to prayer as he has been bored in school and refusing to attend as "it is a waste of my time". He had a double header in football last night and the lost. Both games. By a lot. Brevick scored the only 6 points between the two games so go him. He is good to just power up the middle when he gets to run the ball. Now we need to work on catching.
Emmerlyn got her backhandspring for one day but is still working on doing it consistently. She loves going to activity days and is practicing a song with a few other girls to sing in the primary program in a couple of weeks. She got some Barbie clothes that she can tie-dye and had been working hard at designing them.
We had parent teacher conference this week and all of the kids are doing great in their classes. The teachers only had good things to say about them. Brevick only missed 1 question on his math test which was to explain why the question before ended with that answer. he responded "because I did it and it works." The teacher was not impressed. I did NOT giggle in there but I did when I got to the car. Mr. Sassy Pants needs a challenge.
I am missing Allyn because I like her input around PTC she was full of good advice, great stories, and a fizzy pop.

Happy Birthday Emmerlyn

She turned 11 yesterday which is crazy. She has been looking forward to her birthday for weeks and was lucky enough that it fell on a Friday with no school so that was a nice win for her. We didn't do a huge celebration, I think her favorite part was that she didn't have to do any jobs on that day. Her favorite food is ramen noodles with teriyaki sauce and sriracha so that's what we had for dinner.
She chose a Harry Potter cake which I baked the cake part but she and Brevick made the decorations. They did great job. I am impressed with her love for and ability to craft. She really enjoys it and doesn't hesitate to learn new things.

Happy Birthday sweet girl, we sure love you!

It Raining, It's pouring

The thunderstorms have been passing through for the last week or so. The little boys and I stayed outside watching this one until it started to rain. The sky was magnificent with it's lightening and the almost continuous thunder. We went in just in time because then it hailed until the ground looked like it had snowed.
William also had a game last week his first home game of the season at the new Lookout Credit Union turf stadium that we all attended only to have a volatile storm come up and they had to call it on account of lightening. Not to worry we showed up again the next afternoon to watch a good game against Highland that we lost 12-0. So that was a sad day. Brevick also lost his game later that night but had some good defense and a nice run so all in all he had a fairly successful game.
Charley had a Cross Country meet that they panicked at over fear of nasty weather and ran all 3 grades boys and girls in 2 heats.
The weather was lovely, couldn't have asked for a better day. Charley did not come in last and I am so proud of him for trying every time!
Anchor wanted a picture of himself in his nice batman hoodie. He has now developed a love of hoodies and wears one on the daily.
We are working on our mental health and what to do when we get upset before we "flip our lid"
Brevick flipped his lid the other day.
And the whole house.

So it's a work in progress because I also flipped my lid so we had a lot of pots boiling over that night.
This guy is your best friend right up until it just ghosts you like it's nothing.
Our water heater went out on Friday so we got to spend Saturday morning putting in a new one. I mean it gave 15 years on a 14 year life so I can't be too angry about it but to just go out of the blue like that really seems a little low.
As far as the old man goes, he only snores while he sleeps. He is enjoying his new joy and all the learning he gets to do related to that. He is also working more Eastern Time zone hours so he is getting done with work at about 3 in the afternoon giving him time to go to the gym and attend cross country meets and football games.

Back to School 2022

Yep I put all the shots on here so you can see them from every angle.
or because I was too unmotivated to sort through them. You decide.
We have Preschool, 3 grade, 5th grade, 8th grade, and Sophomore. So that's life happening fast for ya.
